"10 by 10 by 10"
with a very special artists' reception Saturday, May 27
from 5 - 7 PM
Dear Friends,
I have so many reasons to celebrate our 20th
Anniversary in the arts with this special show dedicated to the
number ten, but the most important one is the artists that we represent. Little did I know that when I sent out
a whimsical challenge to the our roster of over 100 artists, that sixty-two of them would respond, creating an
original work just for this celebration.
I asked each of them to consider creating one single piece, in either two or three dimensions, but the results
must be no larger than 10 inches in any direction. "10 X 10 X 10" is the result and you can see each
individual work now through June 9
at Gallery Ten in Gills Rock.
Here's three examples - by a painter, a potter and a fiber artist:
 |
"Sun Dappled Road in Umbria"
oil on canvas by Audrey Dulmes
10" x 10" |
"Storytime Vessel"
sculptural urn in clay by Kerry Shea
10" x 10" x 10" |
 |
 |
"Doing Your Best is Enough"
a quilt by Laura Yost Manthey
10" x 10" |
The other most important reason to celebrate is you... the patrons of the arts that continue to make Gallery Ten
a living link between those who create and those who admire and support their efforts. I'd like to toast all of
you on Saturday, May 27 from 5 - 7 PM
with a very special reception. Champagne corks will pop. Hors d' oeuvres and other delicacies created by Egg Harbor's
Kitchen Maven, Shoshanah Kaiser
will be served. And conversation will abound as memories are rekindled.
Join us,
Charlene, Dewey, Cuppa' Joe and Arthur
