Charlene's Magical Mystery Tour...
Exhibiting artists' reception Saturday May 7, from 5 - 7
PM
"I am delighted to see buds swelling and leaves beginning
to unfurl their greenery in northern Door County. We open the 2005 exhibition season with two distinctive artists
who also look closely at nature. Now through June 10th I encourage you to experience the works of Shari
Matusiak and Randy Richmond at Gallery Ten in Gills Rock," says Charlene.

She began working professionally, right out of high school in Indiana, as
an illustrator depicting furniture for advertising. After college she illustrated children's books for Hanna Barbera
in Boston, and eventually opened a private art studio adjacent to her home in Geneva, Illinois.

Richmond feels that he has been working on a distinctive and
unique form of expression that's often been called "magical realism," for the past 20 years. |
It's only in recent years that the tools-of-his-trade have actually been
invented. Nowadays, he uses that ever-emerging technology to layer his traditional photography of the past with
digital images of the present to create the surreal.
"I strive to make digital art more natural and organic by using
actual objects that are scanned and then separated from their backgrounds," he explains.

You are invited to celebrate the advent of spring in Door County and meet both artists in person at a wine and
cheese opening reception on Saturday, May 7, from 5 - 7 PM at Charlene's Gallery Ten in Gills Rock. The works of Shari Matusiak
and Randy
Richmond will be on display daily at the gallery during regular
hours from 10 AM to 5 PM through June 10.
