Morrisseau & Ferguson artist's opening at Charlene's Gallery
Ten Saturday, June 11 from 5-7 PM
We are delighted to feature art of two dynamic women whose works
expands the boundaries of media. Tina Marie Ferguson from New Brighton, MN builds modern mixed media collages on old vinyl records
and CD'S. Virginia Morrisseau
from Lindenhurst, IL works in encaustics, the ancient art of painting with hot beeswax and pigment.

Morrisseau has been an artist and a professional engineer all of her
life. |
Her career in science was a perfect lead-in to her current full-time studio
work in encaustics. She also provides workshops and demonstrations in mastering the technology behind her chosen
medium, endeavoring to get more artists working in this fascinating manner.
The spirit of the artist is always obvious in her wax paintings. They
come from the heart as well as the hand; and although many are abstract, there is a story or message in each one.
Virginia says one must not only see but actually TOUCH her paintings to fully appreciate them. Her most recent
accomplishment includes a series of paintings for the blind and sight impaired.
Tina Marie Ferguson
takes a more contemporary approach to her tactile collages. She too comes from a professional career that incorporates
art, working as a residential architect in Minnetonka, MN.
After gathering pieces of leather, metal, wood, suede, silk, antique
papers, and many many found objects from all across the world, she began developing them into collage studies,
which became individual portraits s of people based on the information she derived from their interaction.

to create a personal mandala or storybook of their life," she explains. |

Ferguson has developed over 70 pieces of work inspired by important themes
of life, love, family, friends, travel, art, architecture, sex, feminity, wine and food, traditions, ancestry,
and much more. All of them are collaged on records, CD's, 45's, and some even larger works on wood.
I'd love for you to come meet both of these dynamic women and experience
their work at an artist's reception opening the next featured artist exhibition at Gallery Ten on Saturday, June
11 from 5-7 PM. Enjoy wine, cheese, fine art and some great conversation.
