Art's Bustin' Out in Gills Rock at Gallery Ten
Lynn Anderson and Dagmar Kau featured in upcoming exhibit
Charlene brings two distinctive artists to center stage at Gallery
Ten for an Artist's Reception on Saturday, August 20, from 5 -
7 PM. Both Lynn Anderson and Dagmar Kau are self-taught artists
and both are versatile in two and three-dimensional media.
 |
Lynn Anderson is a
multimedia artist, strongly influenced by photography, sculpture and the politics of art. She started "Bustin'
Out" about three years ago to get back into sculpting. |
Anderson probes how women feel when people stare, using the female breast
as a vehicle to propel further thought. The busts are made of plaster and shards of ragged t-shirts along with
found objects combined in various life-casting processes to make her artistic statements.
| Dagmar Kau spends summers
in Door County and winters in Hawaii. "In my twenties I started to express myself with oil paints, but when
I finally discovered clay, it was instant love." |
|
Her paintings in pastel, acrylic and watercolor along with her organic clay
sculpture will all be on display with that of Lynn Anderson at Charlene's Gallery Ten through September 23.
Charlene invites you to meet both women in person, see and discuss their
work, enjoy wine and cheese and try not to stare at Lynn's bust at an Artist's Reception on Saturday,
August 20, from 5 - 7 PM at Gallery Ten in Gills Rock.
Don't miss the Fifth
Annual Gallery Ten Art Fest taking place on Labor Day Weekend,
September 3 - 4. Tents will surround the gallery, filled with original art for sale and the artists will be providing
all-day demonstrations including raku pottery making, wheel-thrown pottery, basket weaving, and jewelry making.
The Art Fest will also include refreshments from a Chicago-style Red Hots wagon and a number of specials in the
GT Coffeehouse.
